In July 1981, Padraic Rhatigan became the second-generation leader of JJ Rhatigan & Company. Following in the footsteps of his father, John J Rhatigan, Padraic became Managing Director of the company. Since then, he has led the group to success with a move into the development field in the 1990s, and continued expansion into new sectors and new regions with offices throughout Ireland and the UK.
Chief Operations Officer, UK Managing Director
Ger Ronayne joined JJ Rhatigan & Company in 1998 as a Senior Site Engineer. Within six months, he had become a Project Manager. In 2000, he was promoted to Contracts Manager, reporting to the Contracts Director. In 2006, Ger progressed to Regional Director responsible for operations in the West, Midlands and North West Regions, and the UK. Ger has a wealth of experience in construction across all sectors overseeing Programme, Budget, Health & Safety and Quality standards.
Chief Financial Officer
As a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Gerry has overall responsibility for the finance function of the Rhatigan Group. Before joining the company in 1992, Gerry worked at GE Capital Woodchester HQ in Dublin.
As Regional Director, Tom has the overall responsibility the construction business in the UK. With over 10 years of experience at all levels and disciplines including project management and quantity surveying, Tom plays a hands-on role overseeing project delivery. Tom brings wealth of construction expertise having delivered a range of projects up to £160m in value, in residential, hotel & leisure, education, commercial and mixed use sectors.
An effective communicator and strategically minded, Tom is a champion of performance improvement. Tom’s focus is to ensure successful handovers, cost control, resolution of contractual matters through a collaborative approach with clients; and the implementation management systems and company policies in respect of Quality, Health & Safety and Employment.
Bill leads the UK team in the day-to-day running of all aspects of the business, in the capacity of Operations Director. Bill brings over 30 years of operational experience, with a proven track record in regional contracting running Divisional Businesses for several Tier 1 Contractors.
Bill is a highly motivated construction professional who is experienced in developing and managing diverse and complex businesses covering a large geographical area with values up to £400m which has included Public and Private Sector clients and Frameworks in Regional Civils and Construction, Open Market Development, Affordable Housing, Airports, Defence and Telecoms.
Technically aware, tenacious and methodical, Bill drives and inspires the team in a supportive leadership role to successfully carry out all functions of the JJ Rhatigan service offering.
Public Sector Director
Tim is Public Sector Director for the UK with a proven ability to deliver concurrent multi-million pound projects within National & Regional frameworks. Tim is a results-oriented, commercial and positive leader with over 12 years of management experience and 9 years as a Director with a Tier 1 Contractor for major pre-construction and construction projects for schools, universities and hospitals.
Tim is a creative thinker with the ability to share and mitigate risks through the analysis of data to drive best practice within framework tendering and delivery. Utilising people and stakeholder management expertise, he is adept at building and maintaining key relationships with clients at the executive level. Tim effectively leads and develops motivated teams to successfully deliver public sector projects that meet the highest safety and construction standards, with a strong understanding of commercial, financial and operational matters.
Bernard is Commercial Manager for the UK responsible for financial control and oversees the procurement and estimating departments. With a strategic outlook, Bernard aims to optimise value at every opportunity for our clients and stakeholders.
Health & Safety Manager
Health & Safety is a top priority at JJ Rhatigan, headed by Caroline Burke who brings over 14 years of experience in the construction industry.
With strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail Caroline leads a committed team of Health & Safety Advisors to ensure that JJR management systems and site safety culture supports and reinforces each other.
Caroline applies a holistic approach to health & safety to support corporate goals and business objectives. Through effective coaching, communication skills, an aptitude for problem solving and working in collaborative environments, Caroline has cultivated a proactive and progressive health & safety culture at JJ Rhatigan.
As Operations Manager, Ray has recently been responsible for numerous commercial office refurbishment, remodelling and new build projects in London. Ray takes responsibility as key client contact on projects, dealing with high level and strategic issues. Ray leads from the front, maintaining the teams focus on achieving each project’s time, cost, quality, health & safety and environmental obligations.
Jason is the Commercial Manager for the UK responsible for securing new contracts, cost control on numerous projects and updating our clients on budgetary control. He also oversees snagging and defects management for projects nearing completion.
Cristina is Operations Manager for the UK responsible for the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of operations through the provisions of effective methods and strategies. Her knowledge and experience in construction management, construction law, surveying and planning, provide inspired leadership and promote a company culture that encourages morale and performance. She also promotes the great opportunities for women in the construction industry with many chances for specialisms and diversification by participating to Women in Business seminars, conferences and workshops.
Regional Design Lead
Conal leads the Design team for the UK as an architecturally trained professional possessing strong technical and design management skills gained from over 14 years of education and employment in the Construction Sector. Overseeing Pre-construction, BIM, Document Control, Design Coordination and Delivery, Conal ensures momentum through design management at all stages of each project’s lifecycle.
A pragmatic thinker, Conal has a vast skill set from his participation on a diverse range of Design and Build construction projects in Ireland and the UK. Passionate about the company’s advanced BIM capabilities and project efficiencies brought by working in a collaborative digital environment, Conal is a progressive and enthusiastic Design Lead.
Kevin is an experienced Contracts Manager who is an effective communicator and works well in challenging environments. He works closely with clients to develop delivery strategies that can be carefully implemented in detail with the entire delivery team.
Mark has extensive knowledge in the use of BIM technologies both professionally and academically and heads the UK BIM team.
Mark joined JJ Rhatigan in 2013 through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Innovate UK and Queen’s University Belfast and has been responsible for the introduction, dissemination and embedding of Building Information Modelling competencies and processes throughout JJR. To supplement this, Mark is also now completing his Masters in Project Management & BIM.
Mark has implemented successful training programmes for JJ Rhatigan staff and supply chain to roll out BIM 360 field on-site management system, BIM execution plans and introducing the government mandated BIM standards, PAS 1192-2, across all live projects. These initiatives were instrumental in JJ Rhatigan achieving BIM Level 2 accreditation with the British Standards Institution (BSI).
Mark oversees BIM on all projects and take a hands-on role assisting project teams through the BIM set up, 3D modelling and high level clash detections with consultants discipline models.
Bid & Marketing Manager
Nicole leads our bid and marketing activities for the UK. She takes an active role in motivating teams during pre-construction and estimating, ensuring information is presented consistently and clearly for our clients. With a passion for architecture, design and the built environment, Nicole’s role extends to business development, actively seeking new business partnerships and identifying new project opportunities.
