Primary Care Centres ‘Meet the Buyer’ Events a success
JJ Rhatigan & Company, Balfour Beatty and Aramark, part of the Prime Balfour Beatty Consortium, hosted three ‘Meet the Buyer’ events in Dublin, Waterford and Claremorris wc. 15th September 2015 for the Primary Care Centres PPP Project. The project will deliver a network of primary care facilities integrating primary, community and continuing care and social services. The scheme encompasses the design, build, finance and maintenance of 14 primary care centres along with ongoing facility management services. Healthcare services will be managed by Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE) after the centres have been constructed. It is one of the first four European projects earmarked to receive funding through the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), an initiative between the European Commission and the European Investment Bank established to stimulate growth and enhance European competitiveness.
The ‘Meet the Buyer’ events were run in partnership with the NDFA, HSE and Enterprise Ireland. Local Procurement and promoting supply chain opportunities to SMEs and social enterprises interested in engaging with the project was a key objective of the events. NDFA Director, Brian Murphy, said “The NDFA is proud to be a part of these events which aim to support local SMEs to participate in major public sector construction projects. They are great networking opportunities as local business have the opportunity to meet and pitch their business directly to the preferred tenderer, in this case Prime Balfour Beatty, who will deliver the 14 Primary Care Centres being developed as part of this €160m Primary Care PPP.”
Construction Joint Venture Director, Ger Ronayne, noted that “Participation at the ‘Meet the Buyer’ events for the Primary Care Centre PPP project is impressive; as is the extent of the supply chain categories represented. Promoting supply chain opportunities to SMEs and social enterprises can offer a boost to regional economies and can provide an opportunity to network with other suppliers. Maximising business potential and building relationships with supply chain partners and buyers is mutually beneficial for all involved.”
