A key feature of the building was the extensive glazed curtain wall façade to hide the appearance of the 1960’s pre-cast concrete structure. The curtain walling uses was a flush toggle glazed system by APA.

The frame of the extension consisted of pre-cast concrete columns and walls on an insitu concrete floor slab. The use of the pre-cast columns gave a significant programme boost to this work. Bathroom pods were used throughout the building.
