Construction has recently commenced on Crown Square, the new mixed use development on the corner of the Monivea Road and Joyce’s Road on the east side of Galway city. The 12.65 acre site will accommodate a 175 bed hotel, office space, 288 residential units, and ancillary retail. Designed by award-winning architects Henry J Lyons, the grade A office space will comprise 425,000 sq. ft over 5 buildings, providing both flexibility and scale for corporate occupiers. The office buildings will be built to LEED Gold standard and include all modern services including generous floor to ceilings heights, expansive reception areas and tenant amenity space.

The site will incorporate a central square, landscaped with native planting and natural materials, which will serve a focal point for Crown Square. The vision for this space will be a place for Crown Square residents and the wider community to engage and collaborate through activities and events.

Sustainability is a key focal point for this development, with all aspects of the project designed to reduce the future environmental impact of the development. While the double basement provides ample parking for occupiers and residents, electric and traditional bikes will be available for hire to ensure there are sustainable transport modes available in and out of the development. There is also substantial changing, drying and shower facilities within each of the office buildings.

An example of the developer’s investment in wellness is the proposed walking track, which provides a suitable running and walking track around the Crown Square site. Additional services available in Crown Square will be a creche with spacious outdoor play area, large fitness/leisure facility, medical centre, pharmacy, cafes and food-hall.

We are considerate constructors and Crown Square is a registered site with the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
