The project consisted of phased construction work to the existing Valeo building over four phases as follows:

Phase 1:
Construction of a rear extension, new yard, loading bays, recycling area, ring main, surface water drainage, water storage tanks pumping station and the construction of stairs and lift adjacent to the old store. The wall between the stores was removed to provide new pre-cast flooring. The contents and occupants of the old store was relocated into the new extension.

Phase 2:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Phase 2 involved the removal of the old store to allow hollow-core and concrete to be placed to form a new first floor. The walls were demolished to form one large store on the ground floor and open plan office space with meeting rooms on the first floor. Existing rooms were adapted to form a link corridor.

Phase 3:
The third phase consisted of the construction of additional toilets to the stair core, which was constructed in Phase 1.

Phase 4:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Phase 4 consisted of the construction of an extension to the front of the factory which included canteen, reception area, offices, meeting rooms, comms rooms and a lift, together with the fit-out of same. The large meeting room was fitted-out along with the installation of video conferencing facilities. An executive office was lengthened, and a new ceiling and floor finish was installed. This involved the demolition of a partition wall, the installation of electrical floor boxes, the construction of a new partition wall and associated finishes. All this work was carried out within the live working building over a two week period.
