In July 1981, Padraic Rhatigan became the second-generation leader of JJ Rhatigan & Company. Following in the footsteps of his father, John J Rhatigan, Padraic became Managing Director of the company. Since then, he has led the group to success with a move into the development field in the 1990s, and continued expansion into new sectors and new regions with offices throughout Ireland and the UK.
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
Ger joined JJ Rhatigan & Company in 1998 as a Senior Site Engineer. Within six months, he had become a Project Manager. In 2000, he was promoted to Contracts Manager, reporting to the Contracts Director. In 2006, Ger progressed to Regional Director responsible for operations in the West, Midlands and North West Regions, and the UK. Ger has a wealth of experience in construction across all sectors overseeing Programme, Budget, Health & Safety and Quality standards.
Chief Financial Officer
As a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Gerry has overall responsibility for the finance function of the Rhatigan Group. Before joining the company in 1992, Gerry worked at GE Capital Woodchester HQ in Dublin.
Plant & Procurement Director
Sean joined JJ Rhatigan & Company in 1989 as a Purchasing/Plant Manager. As the Company progressed, the department expanded and additional resources were added. Sean now leads a team responsible for sourcing all materials and plant as well as monitoring projects from enquiry and quotation to invoicing. Sean has been involved in materials and plant procurement for 26 years with JJ Rhatigan & Company as well as having 8 years’ previous experience with other Building Contractors.
Francis joined J J Rhatigan & Company in 1997. He worked as a Project Quantity Surveyor on a number of projects, to include education, public access buildings, industrial, medical commercial, residential, hotel and leisure. During the Millennium years, having proved his ability and commercial know-how, Francis was promoted to Contracts Manager then Commercial Manager and is now a Commercial Director and has played a major role in all Rhatigan development works undertaken. Francis has been instrumental in the development of JJ Rhatigan & Company into one of Ireland’s largest contractors. He is experienced in all types of building contracts from Traditional to Design and Build Contracts and delivers a value for money ethos for our clients, ensuring client budgets are always to the fore without comprising quality.
Enda joined JJ Rhatigan & Company as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and has 25 years’ experience in the industry. Enda has played a major role in growing the turnover of the Dublin office and has implemented and upgraded various reporting and cost control mechanisms which streamline the surveying function in the region. Enda ensures that all projects are approached and undertaken with a great emphasis on both value for money for the client whilst simultaneously being mindful of the company’s profit margins. He currently manages a team of Surveyors of various levels from Intermediate level up to senior level in a Regional Office which continues to expand and increase its turnover.
Niall has over 18 years’ experience in the Construction Industry in both the UK and Ireland. Niall joined JJ Rhatigan & Company in 2003 after completing his Degree in Construction Management at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology. Since then he has worked on a wide variety of projects in numerous construction sectors; he has progressed from Project Manager to Design Team Manager and most recently to Regional Manager, working on projects such as Industrial, Educational, Medical, Pharmaceutical, Residential, Commercial and Mixed Use Developments.
John has over 35 years’ experience working on large building and civil engineering projects in Ireland, UK and West Africa. John has successfully undertaken the roles of Regional Director, Project Director, Operations Manager on civil, commercial, residential, healthcare, retail, educational and industrial projects. John provides strong operational leadership, with long standing experience and an in-depth knowledge of working in live environments. He has a vast experience of working within confined urban sites, where traffic management controls and neighbour liaison is key. He also has an acute awareness of the need for cost control/management and has a reputation for problem solving.
