In July 1981, Padraic Rhatigan became the second-generation leader of JJ Rhatigan & Company. Following in the footsteps of his father, John J Rhatigan, Padraic became Managing Director of the company. Since then, he has led the group to success with a move into the development field in the 1990s, and continued expansion into new sectors and new regions with offices throughout Ireland and the UK.
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Ger joined JJ Rhatigan & Company in 1998 as a Senior Site Engineer. Within six months, he had become a Project Manager. In 2000, he was promoted to Contracts Manager, reporting to the Contracts Director. In 2006, Ger progressed to Regional Director responsible for operations in the West, Midlands and North West Regions, and the UK. Ger has a wealth of experience in construction across all sectors overseeing Programme, Budget, Health & Safety and Quality standards.
Chief Financial Officer
As a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Gerry has overall responsibility for the finance function of the Rhatigan Group. Before joining the company in 1992, Gerry worked at GE Capital Woodchester HQ in Dublin.
Plant & Procurement Director
Sean joined JJ Rhatigan & Company in 1989 as a Purchasing/Plant Manager. As the Company progressed, the department expanded and additional resources were added. Sean now leads a team responsible for sourcing all materials and plant as well as monitoring projects from enquiry and quotation to invoicing. Sean has been involved in materials and plant procurement for 26 years with JJ Rhatigan & Company as well as having 8 years’ previous experience with other Building Contractors.
Niall has over 18 years’ experience in the Construction Industry in both the UK and Ireland. He joined JJ Rhatigan & Company in 2003 after completing his Degree in Construction Management at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology. Since then he has worked on a wide variety of projects in numerous construction sectors; he has progressed from Project Manager to Contracts Manager and Regional Manager and most recently to Regional Director. Niall has the overall responsibility of the construction business in Connacht and surrounding areas. He is responsible for the implementation of all management systems to ensure completion of all projects, cost control, contractual issues and implementation of company policies in respect of Quality, Health & Safety and Employment.
Gearoid recently joined JJ Rhatigan & Company as a Regional Director and brings with him over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry. He graduated with an honour’s degree in Civil Engineering at National University of Ireland, Galway in 1998 and has since worked on large scale projects across UK and Ireland. As Regional Director, Gearoid, has the overall responsibility of the construction business in the Dublin region and surrounding areas. He is responsible for the implementation of all management systems to ensure completion of all projects, cost control, contractual issues and implementation of company policies in respect of Quality, Health & Safety and Employment.
Séamus has recently joined JJ Rhatigan & Company as a Regional Director. He has over 26 years’ experience in the construction industry in Ireland, the UK, Germany and in the United Arab Emirates. He graduated in Civil Engineering at National University of Ireland, Galway in 1994. As Regional Director, Séamus has the overall responsibility of the construction business in the Cork region and surrounding areas. He is responsible for the implementation of all management systems to ensure completion of all projects, cost control, contractual issues and implementation of company policies in respect of Quality, Health & Safety and Employment
Francis joined J J Rhatigan & Company in 1997. He worked as a Project Quantity Surveyor on a number of projects, to include education, public access buildings, industrial, medical commercial, residential, hotel and leisure. During the Millennium years, having proved his ability and commercial know-how, Francis was promoted to Contracts Manager then Commercial Manager and is now a Commercial Director and has played a major role in all Rhatigan development works undertaken. Francis has been instrumental in the development of JJ Rhatigan & Company into one of Ireland’s largest contractors. He is experienced in all types of building contracts from Traditional to Design and Build Contracts and delivers a value for money ethos for our clients, ensuring client budgets are always to the fore without comprising quality.
Enda joined JJ Rhatigan & Company as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and has 25 years’ experience in the industry. Enda has played a major role in growing the turnover of the Dublin office and has implemented and upgraded various reporting and cost control mechanisms which streamline the surveying function in the region. Enda ensures that all projects are approached and undertaken with a great emphasis on both value for money for the client whilst simultaneously being mindful of the company’s profit margins. He currently manages a team of Surveyors of various levels from Intermediate level up to senior level in a Regional Office which continues to expand and increase its turnover.
Joe Garry has been with JJ Rhatigan & Company for 11 years joining in 2008 as a Contracts Manager in the Dublin Office. He previously working with Bowen Construction Ltd for three years and as a Project Manager with John Sisk & Son Ltd for eleven years. Joe is an experienced Project and Contracts Manager with an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of technologies in the Construction Industry having worked extensively both at home and abroad. He has successfully managed extremely competitive and high-profile projects, drawing upon his proven communication and interpersonal skills and enthusiastic approach to achieve the best results. He has an acute awareness of the need for cost control/management and has a reputation for problem solving and for challenging established thinking.
John is a Contracts Director and a Chartered Engineer with over 25 years’ post graduate experience. For almost 20 years John has successfully led and delivered projects of a varied nature all over Ireland. These have included Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, IT, Sports, Educational and Residential projects as well as Civil Engineering works. These works have included fit-outs and refurbishments projects in addition to large green field infrastructural projects. These have included Design & Build contracts where John has managed design teams and traditional contracts for both the private and public sector. John has also repeatedly shown over the years that he can deliver many projects simultaneously
Michael has 27 years’ post graduate experience and has worked at Construction Director level for Building Companies in the Leinster Region for the past 16 years. He started his career in the UK, working as a Site Engineer in London, moving to a Specialist Subcontractor as Package Manager on a number of iconic new builds, including the Mi6 Building at Vauxhall Cross. He then moved into civil engineering with a major National Contractor and worked on some prestigious projects across England before taking up a role in Saudi Arabia. He returned to Ireland to work as a Resident Engineer and carried out similar roles with Local Authorities, managing public infrastructure projects. He completed a part-time MBA at this juncture, before moving back to the Building at a Senior Level. He has been involved in projects across the full spectrum of Construction.
Anthony is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building and has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry working on some of the most prestigious and complex projects in both Ireland and the UK. He maintains a hands-on approach in order to establish and maintain the smooth running of his projects. He has experience of working on projects in many different sectors including; residential, health, retail, high rise, commercial and defence. Anthony is renowned for his ability to remove road blocks and overcome difficulties with his positive approach and lateral thinking.
