Sod Turning at Griffeen Community College
We were honoured to welcome Minister for Education and Youth, Helen McEntee, to our Griffeen Community College project in Lucan today for the ceremonial turning of the sod.
Minister McEntee met with our JJ Rhatigan project team, representatives from KSNPM, alongside staff and students from Griffeen Community College, marking an important milestone in this exciting development.
As part of the Department of Education and Youth’s Design & Build programme, JJ Rhatigan is proud to deliver modern, sustainable, and high-quality educational facilities that will serve the needs of growing communities. The new 11,443 m² Griffeen Community College will provide places for 1,000 pupils and feature:
✅ Modern classrooms and labs with advanced technology
✅ Specialist facilities for science, art, music, and sports
✅ Sustainable design elements for an energy-efficient future
This project will play a vital role in addressing the demand for secondary school places in Lucan and reflects the Department’s vision for adaptable, inclusive spaces that support both academic excellence and personal growth. We’re proud to be part of this journey and look forward to seeing Griffeen Community College become a thriving centre of learning.
