The project consisted of the complete refurbishment and upgrade to all internal elements of the existing student residences, totaling 213 apartments. The project was completed across a number of phases. 

The works required removal of all kitchens, joinery, bathrooms, floor finishes, complete mechanical and electrical strip out.

The projects were carried out on a phased basis involving:

  • New tiling fitted to two toilet areas on wall and floor
  • Wall mounted ventilation was fitted to the toilet areas
  • Easy clean shower heads installed
  • Sanitary ware was replaced to all bathrooms
  • New tile flooring installed throughout
  • New safety flooring was installed to staircases and landing areas
  • New Fire detection and alarm systems have been fitted
  • New Fire Doors were fitted internally to all accommodation doors openings
  • New Security and keycard access system was fitted
  • New Kitchen and wardrobe Installation throughout
  • New internal and Apartment entrance doors throughout
  • Wall Cavity Insulation pumped into cavities of all external walls
  • Attic insulation installed
  • New hot water cylinders installed
  • New Mechanical and Electrical installation including new Electrical Heaters, Light fittings, sockets & switches
  • New glazing installed into existing window frames of all bedrooms
  • Completely new Paint finishes throughout
  • External refurbishment included repairs to defective render copings and gutters
  • Selected repairs to paving where damaged along the front of the builds

External upgrades included the injecting insulation to the external wall cavity, refurbishment of all fenestration and the installation of new secure access control systems.
