The project consists of phased construction work to the existing Valeo Building. This entailed four phases as follows:
Phase 1: Construction of rear extension, new yard, loading bays, recycling area, ring main, surface water drainage, water storage tanks and pumping station and construction of stairs and lift adjacent to the old store; Remove wall between stores and dispatch and provide new pre-cast flooring to dispatch area with open plan office space over; Relocate the contents and occupants of the old stores into new extension
Phase 2: Removal of the roof of the old store to allow hollowcore and concrete to be placed to form a new first floor; Reinstating of the roof; Demolition of the walls between phase 1 and phase 2 to form one large store on the ground floor and open plan office space with meeting rooms on the first floor; Breaking through from the stairs and lift in Phase 1 to the store and first floor of Phase 2; The adaption of existing rooms to form a link corridor that would be used for employees of the factory in Phase 3; the adaption of existing rooms to form H&S room and locker rooms.
Phase 3: The third phase was the construction of additional toilets to the staircore constructed in Phase 1.
Phase 4: Construct extension to the front of the factory, including canteen, reception, offices, and meeting rooms and comms rooms, lift, together with fit-out of same. The large meeting room consisted of fit out of conference table and chairs, carpet to floor and video conferencing facilities.
