The construction of a 2 storey L shaped building catering for Breastcheck’s facilities and also included new accommodation for the HSE’s existing Symptomatic Breast Clinic department at UCHG.

The building was heavily serviced and included the integration of all data, security, BMS, communication and fire systems into the existing hospital main frame without any down time.

The project also involved the extension of the existing Pathology facilities. JJRhatigan & Company constructed the new Histopathology building which was linked onto the existing Pathology Department while at all times maintaining full occupancy/operation of their laboratories. The new building included new state of the art laboratory facilities for cut up and examination of specimens. Special emphasis was placed upon the cut up installations which included down draft air extraction tables and chemical dilution stations to ensure the safety of the laboratory workers and the environment.

JJ Rhatigan & Co. carried out all the works while adhering to strict noise, vibration, (highly sensitive microscope in existing facility) and hygiene constraints.
