J J Rhatigan & Company was first established in 1952 by the late John J Rhatigan, who built up a strong, successful reputation, primarily in the building of schools, churches and other institutions, to a very high standard.

In more recent years, the Company has diversified into a number of different areas of construction, which includes the construction of new hotels, leisure centres, the upgrading and reconstruction of existing buildings and medical facilities, municipal buildings, industrial and commercial developments, third level education facilities, Local Authority developments and mixed residential developments.

J J Rhatigan & Company have completed work in Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Leitrim, Westmeath, Clare, Limerick, Kerry, Dublin and Meath.  Projects undertaken have varied in size up to €400m.

A major factor in the success of the Group has been the opening, in 1996, of a Regional Office in Dublin.  This has allowed the Group access to the buoyant Dublin market in both the development and construction sectors.  The company has also opened two further Regional Offices in Sligo and Athlone.

While the core business of general contracting has continued to prosper and develop successfully, the development wing of the business has become a parallel success.  It now represents approximately 50% of Group Turnover.

J J Rhatigan & Company "set standards" in the speed and quality of their construction.  This is consistent with the Rhatigan philosophy to complete contracts within, or ahead of schedule, with the minimum of fuss and to the highest standard.  This customer satisfaction is reflected in the huge percentage of repeat business achieved by the Company.  The company's uncompromising commitment to detail and quality has made their developments landmarks for the future.
