The strength and founding principles developed by John J Rhatigan still remain with the company today as JJ Rhatigan & Company continue to set standards in the industry.
Providing construction services for over half a century, initially from the development of municipal buildings in the 1950’s to award winning construction in the education sector in the 1990’s evolving to eminent recognition in all sectors over the last ten years, the current impressive projects at Heuston South Quarter Dublin, Crown Plaza Galway and Athlone Town Centre were a natural progression for JJ Rhatigan & Company.
Heuston South Quarter Dublin, a notable €400m development spanning 120,000 sq. m consists of a hotel, apartments, commercial office space and retail units, Athlone Town Centre completed in 2008 consists of a gross floor space 140,000 sq. m which includes a shopping mall, residential units and a hotel and the Crown Site Redevelopment in Galway is set on 12 acre site comprising of retail, residential, public parks, commercial office space and a hotel and leisure centre development.
A major factor in the success of the Group has been the opening, in 1996, of a Regional Office in Dublin. This has allowed the Group access to the buoyant Dublin market in both the development and construction sectors. With the growth of the company in the North West RegionJJ Rhatigan & Company decided to open a regional office in Sligo, which has contributed to the income of our turnover. While the core business of general contracting has continued to prosper and develop successfully, the development wing of the business has become a parallel success. It now represents approximately 20% of Group Turnover.
